Early Years

I was born in Hawaii in 1967, and my early years were filled with metaphysical concepts and the influence of my mother's mysticism. I learned to meditate at an early age as a child. As a teen my family moved to California where I enlisted in the US Marine Corps after my high school graduation, and was soon stationed back on my home island of Oahu. After my honorable discharge from the Marines I was guided intuitively to move to Florida where, in my early 20s I had an awakening experience. 

Awakening

I had a very vivid dream in which I was talking to a room full of people, and a bright white light was shining over and through me. It is impossible to adequately describe the experience in words, but after this event everything changed. I became hyper-aware, all of my senses were in overdrive, and my intuition became extremely strong. Tastes, sounds, smells, emotions, everything was intensified. I could feel everything that was going on with people around me. For a period of time it was difficult to be around other people, until I learned to filter the complex information I was receiving. Little did I know at the time, but the area that I was living in Florida is home to an energy vortex that promotes growth and awakenings.

I became conscious of the flow of energy between all people, and saw how most others are living on a subconscious level and are not aware of their own energy and what it is doing at any given moment. An example of how this manifested happened when an acquaintance of mine who was a used car salesman asked me to help him practice his sales pitch. I agreed. As soon as he began his spiel I began to feel energetic tendrils reaching out from him towards me that tried to wrap themselves around me. Quickly I excused myself, rather than be subjected to what felt like energetic manipulation.

It was overwhelming, and I sometimes felt like I was being physically buffeted by unseen forces. I found myself a job that limited my contact with other people, and allowed me to be in soothing nature.

These experiences put me on a path to find a practice that would help me make sense of what was happening, and to control my new level of awareness. 

Discovering Toltec Wisdom

Shortly thereafter, I was giving psychic readings in a bookstore in California. In between sessions, I started reading some books by Carlos Castaneda who wrote about Don Juan and the Toltec teachings. The Toltec teachings resonated with me, and intuitively I new it was something I wanted to investigate for myself.

Soon after I moved back to Hawaii I discovered a teacher who shared the Toltec traditions here on the islands. I studies with her for a couple of years, which eventually led me to study briefly with her teacher, Don Miguel Ruiz, author of the "Four Agreements". I've been to the ancient city of Teotihuacan twice for initiations and rituals.

What intrigued me about the Toltec traditions were the twin philosophies of personal freedom and personal power. These are tools that help a student to define their own journey, rather than abide by a strictly enforced dogma that must be followed unquestioningly.  Personal freedom, as my teachers shared it, has to do with the journey of self-discovery in which the student finds out who they truly are - beyond what our family tells us we are, beyond what our culture and society tells us - so that we can go anywhere in the world, without even knowing the language, and prosper. This brings us back to the twin concept of personal power, in which we discover ways that we give our power away to outside influences without being aware of it, and then learn ways to reclaim that personal power. All of which ultimately leads us to our own self-realization and enlightment. 

The Ongoing Journey

As I move along my path of life-long learning and service to humanity, in addition to Shamanic Healing, I continue to incorporate wisdom and teachings that resonate with me. I have trained most recently with my dear friend, Kahuna of Oneness, Laurie Grant (Uri) to offer IO Energy Healings (Infinite Oneness), and ARCH healings. My wife and I have developed (or perhaps it's more accurate to say remembered) a form of meditation and blessing/healing we call Infinite Heart. I was initiated a few years ago by the Ancestors to incorporate a modality called Huna Fire Healing. I now offer my heart energy in service through private consultation, classes, apprenticeships, full moon fire circles, and I am a Minister ordained in the State of Hawaii to perform wedding ceremonies.
